The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting is a consumer safety organisation set up to protect against unsafe and unsound electrical installations. It is the independent regulatory body for the electrical industry.

The NIC EIC approves contractors engaged in a wide range of installation work; the statutory inspection and testing of portable and transportable electrical equipment is also covered (PAT Testing).

All electrical work carried out by Cardrews Electrical, as an approved contractor, is guaranteed to comply with the requirements of BS7671:2001 (Electrical Installation standards) and the NIC EIC codes of practice.

Cardrews Electrical is proud to be an approved contractor and guarantees to meet or exceed the standards required by the NIC EIC.

Through its Complaints Procedure, the NIC EIC investigates all allegations that Approved Contractors have not complied with the council's technical standard and, where substantiated, requires the contractor to correct any faults at no extra cost to the consumer. If the contractor is unwilling or unable to do so then, under the Guarantee of Standards Scheme, the NIC EIC will appoint another contractor to correct the deviations, again at no additional cost to the specifier or consumer.
